I have been a registrar/celebrant for over 24 years and could not imagine myself doing anything else. I started in bolton where I was born and bred and worked in the register office there for three years. I loved it from day one and knew that this was for me. I cannot imagine doing anything else. In 2010 I did a show called ‘the wedding house’ for channel 4. Initially when I auditioned, the production company were looking for four registrars. They ultimately just chose me. I had such fun for 3-4 months and was thrown into this world I knew nothing about. I married 46 couples over approximately 26 days and all the weddings/renewal of vows were themed in some way. There was Alice in wonderland, Dalmations, and I must not forget the fetish ceremony to name a few.
